Both these clips are .ts (Transport Stream) from a digital satellite transmission. Th.Wegmueller has a solution for those who will have problems. "Renaming the videos extensions to .mpg can fix the probable missing association with the player program. The codec is a type MP4 and most codex packs and VLC player should play."
